CAMPUS OF CULTURE AND YOUTH WORK, MIKKELI

The Campus of Culture and Youth Work is located near Mikkeli centre. The Campus of Culture and Youth Work is traditional and nationally known. The campus`s philosophy is based on the community, and the main idea is that the students are actively increasing their skills. The education methods are connected to the working life by using cooperation projects, practical training and research works.

We offer two bachelor`s degree programmes in Finnish:

• Degree Programme in Civic Activities and Youth Work leading to the degree of Bachelor of Humanities (210 ECTS, 3,5 years)


• Degree Programme in Cultural Production and Management leading to the degree of Bachelor of Culture and Arts (240 ECTS, 4 years).

Graduates holding a bachelor`s degree in civic activities and youth work are working in the field of culture, leisure time or youth work as trainers or organisers, planners, operation directors, developers and educators.

Graduates holding a bachelor`s degree in cultural services are working in the field of culture, art education and programme services as coordinators, planners, counsellors, educators and operations directors. The employer can be a municipality, the third sector, an institute, a co-operative society or an individual company. Some of the graduates will earn their living as entrepreneurs.
